How to change boot sequence from hard drive to cd-rom on foresight linux?

ihave a Shuttle desktop that came with an operating system called Foresight linux. I don't have an internal cd-rom, so I am using an external usb dvd write LG GP08. My OS is screwed with errors coming up, so I'm trying to boot with a cd foresight provides but it isnt being detected. Help!! btw i cant access my desktop its gnome.. im stuck at a screen asking for my root password for maintenance in order to run system file check something

check your boot order in the bios you wont the cd drive to be in front of the hard drive



you can change it by pressing what ever F key is assigned to you bios set up my F9; it will usually be displayed at the start up screen.
