Windows Vista goes to black screen after boot.Whats the deal?!?

After a recent update when i try to boot to Vista it it loads to the point of the green progress bars. After those do their regular thing it appears to try to tranisition to loading the Vista logo and goes black. I've let it sit for an hour and nothing changes. It won't even boot into safe mode. I've checked all my hardware and everythings fine. How the hell do i get in?!!!! Help me Obi Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope!Windows Vista goes to black screen after boot.Whats the deal?!?
If you have two monitors and use analog/digital input to switch computers, try going to the digital input to make sure your main monitor display didnt change.Windows Vista goes to black screen after boot.Whats the deal?!?
Have you tried 'last known good configuration?'...
If you have a Vista dvd, boot from it and do a system repair and it will fix your system.
You're running Vista... Format and reinstall Windows XP... sorry I just couldn't resist. It's really hard to tell without getting more information, but it sounds like something is corrupted. If you have a spare drive try reinstalling on that spare drive and trying to boot from that, if it boots, it's software, if not it is probably hardware.
