To cut a long story short, I have Windows XP on my home computer.
Using that computer, I installed another Windows XP onto a flash drive, so I could stick it in a computer and go.
Now, my computer looks for that flash drive to boot Windows, forcing me to have to be present at my computer to push down in the 3 seconds it gives to select an OS at the boot up screen.
How can I make it so that either:
1) The flash drive boot is gone, so that it only loads the Windows XP on my main hard drive.
or
2) Switch the boot order, so that the main hard drive boot is on top and autoloads if I don't push anything. How can I change my default Windows XP boot?
right click on ';My Computer'; %26gt; properties %26gt; advanced %26gt; at the ';Startup and Recovery'; section click on ';settings'; %26gt; choose the default operating system and thats all...
BRHow can I change my default Windows XP boot?
Go into BIOS and do that. It's usually accessed by hitting F10 or Delete key.
Look for the boot.ini file.
1. right click on my computer
2. hit propertise
3. go to advanced tap
4. go to starup and recovery
5 change the Default operating systme to the desired operating system and uncheck both check marks below it. (Time to display things . .)
good luck!
